I never could make the transition to 3D fighters that well. The only ones that I did like were, the first Battle Toshiden and the first Bloody Roar.

I like Haze actually and I was one of those that got caught up in the hype. The graphics were a let down though, because at that time I was still looking to play a game that would showcase the PS3's power. The only reaon I would say the campaign was alright is because it did have 4 player co-op, which to this day is kinda rare on the PS3--exclusive wise. Not all the maps look good in Gears 2, mainly the snow levels, and I'm not impressed with the snow on characters in any game. Actually, it was the snow maps that made the overall game look...not so good. But that, in my opinion, was the only thing that didn't look good. As far as dumbing down the graphics for 5vs5, you need only look at the Jacinto multiplayer map to see that that isn't true. Jacinto was my favorite map because that's were Gear's 2 graphics really shined. ...
^^^Host migration with servers usually means the server went out and so the game quickly(hopefully) "migrates" to the person with the fastest and strongest internet connection. Host migration is used with and without servers. An example of a game without any host migration is one that ends a match if the host quits the match and player(s) are disconnected from the host. Gears 2 use to be like that. The Halo games and UC2 are games with host migration.
Slow? Nah, I mean I could easily mention a certain other game thats similar that doesn't even have a sprint button, but I guess it's "platforming" kinda makes up for it. Halo didn't even have a sprint button up until Reach and even that is more of a load/perk or whatever. To me I think games like these should have a sprint button.

Your concern is very understandable in my opinion. I don't think I've enjoyed a game that has been hyped to death before I played it. But if I've played a game that I've never heard of, and love it, I then join in with the rest of the hype, lol. Anyway, I hope you like it because I most certainly did.

Tomato...tomatoe. I'm not trying rag on the game, but "seriously laggy" has never equated to being good.
I remeber that Socom problem, and I remember reading a review--I think it was from 1up, and they actually said in that review they were going to wait a week or so until things got ironed out to give it a score.
I wasn't happy with Gears 2 online when it launched, but I didn't go into a rage like with what people do nowadays. I have better things to do with my time, lol.

Crytek needs to release more variety of games with their engine. Both engines look good, but to be on Epic's level your engine better be super flexible and easy to work with also.
